The optician’s fair in Munich (opti) is regarded as one of the most important fairs of the optician’s industry worldwide. It is the leading fair for products and innovations concerning the topics frames, contact lenses, glasses, instruments and shop construction. The important topics at opti are also the laser technology as well as binoculars or night vision devices. Furthermore, education and further training, advertising and marketing, workshops and workshop equipment or area advertising medium and decoration are considered. In four fair halls the exhibitors are classified clearly according to the different topics.
For many years opti is an institution in the Munich fair calendar and the fair is not imaginable without it anymore. Every year in January opti takes place at the area of the New Munich Trade Fair Center, so that products, trends and innovations can be presented already at the beginning of the financial year. About 22,700 trade visitors from 69 countries meet together with the international exhibitors in the fair days. Particularly the high professionalism of the visitors attracts the attention. More than 60 percent of the business visitors’ companies are decision-makers. Nowhere else in the world business visitors will find different crafts and materials concentrated at one place. That’s why they use opti as an industry-covering business, information and discussion platform. About 22 percent of the visits to the opti in Munich come from abroad.
opti is far more than just a platform to present new products and innovations. Different forums offer the possibility of professional discussions with experts and for the exchange with colleagues from all over the world. Of course all talks of the forum are translated simultaneously into German and English.
Only who presents himself at the market in a clever manner, can distinguish from the mass. In the most true sense of the word “obvious” marketing ideas are for the industry an absolute must-have. That’s why at opti the innovation price “Trendy” is awarded. It goes to companies which stand out with especially provocative, innovative and also offensive marketing ideas.
